June 08 2015 Huge success for Meyn Rapid in Turkey

The Turkish poultry processing market is currently facing challenges with regard to labor. It is becoming more and more difficult to find, and especially keep, skilled and motivated personnel. Next to this, labor costs are increasing, making it even more important to reduce the number of people required in the plant. This can be seen as one of the major reasons for the automation wave in deboning that is currently taking place at Öznesil, Banvit and Şenpiliç.

Öznesil Entegre Tavukçuluk
The Öznesil Entegre Tavukçuluk ve Yem San. Tic. A.S. company was founded in 1971 and over the years extended into a complete integration from breeding up to slaughtering plant. The company, located in Malatya in the South Eastern part of Turkey, supplies its Halal products throughout the region.

Öznesil Piliç installed a Rapid HQ breast deboner with automatic fillet harvesting modules to harvest automatically the outer fillets (half or whole fillets) or whole fillets with the inner fillets attached. The setup is completed with rest meat modules to remove the last remaining meat from the carcass. For the past couple of months, they have been producing fillets with and without skin to their full satisfaction. Next to the Rapid, Öznesil also installed a new Quest stunner, several new evisceration machines, a new sorting line and upgraded their existing Meyn cut up department.

Banvit A.Ş. is a food producer with complete vertical integration from production to distribution. They sell their healthy, tasty high quality products mostly domestically from their strategically located facility in Bandirma on the Marmara Sea, but are also an important Turkish exporter of poultry.

After installation of three Rapid Plus breast deboners in June of this year, Banvit will save at least 90 people in labor with going from manual to automatic operation. The Rapids will be installed in a completely new hall and will be fitted with automatic fillet harvesting modules, keel bone modules, rest meat modules as well as all new back meat harvesting solution. Banvit has extensively compared the different breast deboning systems available on the market, and also after testing at the Meyn Demo and training center, decided to opt for the Meyn Rapid Plus breast deboner.

Starting its business in a humble broiler farm in 1978, Şenpiliç Gıda Sanayi A.Ş. nowadays operates 24 breeding farms, 2 hatcheries, 2 feed mills, 2 slaughterhouses in Söğütlü and Ali Fuat Paşa, producing over 110 million broilers a year.

Şenpiliç already operates an automatic breast cap deboning machine, but was looking at increasing the current capacity. For this, they have chosen for a Rapid Plus breast deboner with automatic fillet harvesting modules. Next to breast deboning, they have also decided to increase their capacity in their thigh deboning operations by installing a Meyn D50 thigh deboner.

The Rapid Plus breast deboner ensures an unrivalled yield, high quality products and gives a large flexibility in end products. The system is easy to adjust by means of presets and its modular set-up optimizes the required floor space and makes it possible to integrate future extensions. The Rapid Plus is the only solution available that allows for the automatic harvesting of all products, which of course leads to a reduced labor requirement.
