Powered by an electric motor, this module is comprised of a special catch wheel and rotating knife, which is able to cut to any specification. The cutter can also be integrated in the re-hanger from de-feathering to evisceration.
Shackled birds move on an overhead conveyor and are guided to the module’s infeed breast first. As hocks are positioned on a catch wheel, they are bent and immediately cut at the ankle joint to remove the hocks. Hocks remain shackled and are discharged via the hock unloader. In addition to hock cutting, this module can also cut through the heel to cut off the feet.
