The Jet stream scalder produces superior defeathered products at the highest possible yield. It uses little energy, eliminates excess water and reduces maintenance. Warm water loosens feathers prior to mechanical plucking and washes both skin and feathers.
The Jet stream scalder uses a continuous flow of warm water and prevents carcasses from floating during this airless process. A propeller pump pushes water into a tube, which injects it in the bath. A deflector plate assures optimal water flow and full bird immersion. Shackled birds hang vertically during scalding and water runs at high speed across their skin. The top of the recoil plate sits underneath the water level to prevent air entering the water to maintains optimal temperature.
Opens feather pack to reach the follicles and flows over the skin to maximize heat transfer
Eliminates thermal energy losses due to agitation and air injection
Makes the process visible and very easy to clean
