Giblet chilling

Within the giblet harvesting section of the plant it is also common to chill the harvested giblets. In order to perform this giblet chilling, the Meyn delivery programme comprises separate chillers for hearts, livers, gizzards and necks. These chillers can be either installed as stand alone models, or it is also possible to install three of them together on one platform in the giblet harvesting section of the plant, thus saving space.

Operations

An air chill system for giblets comprises a wide conveyor belt, placed in the air chill tunnel, usually the same tunnel that is used to chill the broilers in the overhead line. The conveyor belt is moving very slowly in order to reach the desired residence time.
