Birds enter the rehanger suspended by their feet in the slaughter shackle. In the first shaft cutting wheel, they are individually positioned for precise feet or hock cutting to maximize yield. The products then move to the second shaft for correct positioning before being transferred smoothly to the evisceration shackles in the third shaft. Both the feet in the slaughtering shackle and the birds in the evisceration shackle continue inline for further processing.
