The JM series plucker is an “attack plucker,” typically positioned at the beginning of the plucking line and designed to remove the majority of feathers. The JM series features two cabinets, each with two banks. Both cabinets can be adjusted in height, width, and angle. The JM series is available in two configurations to accommodate different layouts:
The JMD2 plucker is a “finishing plucker,” commonly positioned at the end of the plucking line. It is specifically adjusted to remove remaining feathers after the attack pluckers. The JMD2 includes four individual beams, each adjustable in height, width, and angle.
Some customers choose to use the JMD2 exclusively for the entire plucking line. One advantage of this configuration is that the pluckers can be arranged in a "tunnel" formation, allowing precise coverage of the bird’s entire surface.
Both Meyn pluckers use flat belt-driven plucking discs. A key benefit of this design is that if one disc becomes jammed, it does not affect the operation of the others - unlike geared disc systems. In addition, flat belt-driven designs generate less noise than gear-driven alternatives.
